Outdoor Fireplaces

Trends / September 9,2013

Outdoor fireplaces and fire pits look fantastic, and are perfect when you want to entertain outdoors. Most outdoor fireplaces have their interior decorated with a durable material while others have black fire screens to protect you from sparks. Stone and brick are two very durable options for outdoor fireplaces. Before commencing the building of the fireplace you have to first decide whether or not it's going to be a wood-burning fireplace or a gas fireplace.

Some outdoor fireplaces double as pizza ovens, so if you love pizza this could be something you want to keep in mind during the design process. Apart from the fixed fireplaces, there are fire pits. These are portable and can look spectacular.

One of the most important things to keep in mind with an outdoor fireplace or fire pit is safety. Ensure that wherever you put the fireplace, it's a good distance away from trees and other items that could pose a danger. Take your time and think carefully about the placement of your outdoor fireplace. It's also a good idea to talk to your local council about what you are preparing to do to ensure that if you need to get permission, you can get this process going as soon as possible.
