Indoor Recreation applied Outside

Trends / August 20,2013

Exciting things are happening in the world of home decoration, with indoor and outdoor settings undergoing an exchange of function. People that used to commute to the office are increasingly choosing to work from home, and as interior spaces are becoming more associated with work, people are finding the need to distance themselves from that association. The perfect way to get away from the home office is to develop a comfortable, leisurely area in the yard.

Designing an outdoor relaxation area is easy in a warm climate, with plenty of available options. Screened verandas and patios with comfortable reclining chairs are a great way to enjoy spring and summer temperatures, while still staying protected from pesky insects. Installing a day bed might seem a little decadent, but few people disagree with the idea once they have laid upon one. When the winter hits, staying warm outside is the key to a good yard design. Fire pits, BBQs and outdoor pizza ovens are ideal focal points for social gatherings, keeping people warm and fed. An outdoor audio/visual entertainment setup will make sure there are no awkward pauses in conversation.
